Upgrading from AutoGallery To DataShed
Posted: 21 Sep 06 1:10 PM
I have completed the installation and everything appears to be working fine, except that all of my listings are not showing up at all. None of the custom categories I set up in AutoGallery are showing up either.

I uploaded DataShed into a seperate folder and have the database path pointing to the existing database in the live folder site of the AutoGallery. Some settings were there - like company information, etc. but the inventory is missing.

Any ideas?

Re: Upgrading from AutoGallery To DataShed

Hello janton,

I suspect that something has gone quite wrong during the upgrade. (It's possible that a step through the upgrade may have failed if the database was in use or "locked" by another process while 20/20 DataShed's setup process was trying to make alterations to the database's architecture. This is not a common problem, but I have seen it happen.

To resolve, I might suggest these steps:

  1. Get your most recent backup copy of 20/20 Realtor's database.
  2. Upload it to your 20/20 DataShed folder (to replace 20/20 DataShed's own empty database).
  3. Then step through the 20/20 DataShed's setup process once more.

Another point I will make is simply that 20/20 Realtor and 20/20 DataShed cannot "share" a database. Once 20/20 DataShed's setup process has connected to and upgraded an old 20/20 Realtor database, that database is no longer compatible with 20/20 Realtor.

I don't know if this advice will solve your current problem...but if you consider the steps you took to upgrade, this advice might help to identify "why" things went wrong.
